CERAM-ETCH is a viscous hydrofluoric acid gel indicated for glass-based porcelains and ceramics etching.
composition:
- Hydrofluoric acid…………………………………………………………………….. 9%
- Water……………………………………………………………………………………….90%
- Thickening agent…………………………………………………………………….. 1%
Indications: CERAM-ETCH is indicated for the intrados preparation of:
- vitreous ceramics crowns, veneers and inlays before cementation with resin type composites.
- It is also indicated for all-ceramic and metal-ceramic fractured crown reparation.
- For an optimal preparation, it is advised to apply SILAN-IT on the etched surface afterwards.
Instruction:
1 – In case of intraoral procedure, isolate the area to be etched with a dam.
2 – When preparing fractured porcelain crowns for bonding, abrade the surface of the porcelain with a medium grit bur to remove the glazed surface and to create enough space for a sufficient layer of composite resin. Sandblasting can also be performed. Rinse all debris from the surface with water and dry with moisture and
oil free compressed air.
3 – Apply CERAM-ETCH to the porcelain surface with a microbrush and leave for 60 seconds.
4 – Rinse the porcelain thoroughly with water to completely neutralize the etching agent and dry well. The etched porcelain should have a frosted white appearance. If not, repeat the etching procedure
CAUTION: CERAM-ETCH must be used carefully. Avoid contact with oral soft tissues, eyes and skin. If accidental contact occurs, flush with copious amounts of water and seek medical attention.
